It’s been awhile since I wrote about the girl and what she has been up to, but to give an excuse I would have to say we have been very busy!
Today however, we took another trip to the dog park. I have brought her their the past 2 days but nobody else has been there. It’s been nice to let Shannon off leash and let her run around, but nothing takes the place of doggie socialization.
Today I arrive, again to an empty park, but shortly after arriving 2 other people/dogs arrived. First a chocolate lab named Maggie who only wanted to play fetch with her owner. (She barely even knew that Shannon existed. ) And then a medium sized dog named Mia, of course with owner in tow. She was more then willing and excited to chase Shannon around the park.
We spent about an hour there, watching the dog play, and ourselves chatting about the weather, dog food, dog toys, dog training, dog treats etc. It was nice to see Shannon have a positive experience at the park. (Or was it nice that I had a positive experience at the park….) Anyway – after about an hour a 4th dog and owner showed up. He was a larger shepard mix that was VERY interested in Shannon. A little overwhelming for her at times as I noted her tail tucked between her legs and her hackles up when he got to close.
All in all it was a good time – for both Shannon an me!
