It’s been 3 weeks since Shannon arrived at the house. She has been a gem every day! She continues to grow each day and learn each day. She is incredibly smart and is a sponge when it comes to learning.
The past 2 days I have been able to take her to this great place nearby to go walking. She loves investigating and meeting the people and dogs at the park. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She kisses all the dogs!
I need to sign up for dog school. I am in need of some tools to train this dog. She loves to pull on the leash when we meet new people and dogs. Other then that she is pretty good on the leash. She behaves in the house – but that is to be expected – there are no distractions.
I know that it’s just time and patience and practice. All of which I am not very good at – but I’ve no excuse, I have to be! It’s only fair to the dog. I think I will get online and order some good dog training books. Those will be good tools.
There are only a few more days of August and kids will start going back to school. And back to college. We have a college nearby that I will start walking Shannon through. That will get her use to people and perhaps help subside the enery she has when new people are around.
